Parent Leadership Organizations



The Franklin Special School District PTO is a group of parents, guardians, teachers and staff focused on supporting our schools and our students so that all children receive the best education possible. The PTO provides opportunities for family involvement, supports our teachers’ needs in the classroom, organizes fundraising events to provide educational supplies and equipment, and engages our community. Each of the eight FSSD schools has their own chapter and each school’s PTO chairs, teachers and administrators are members of the overall FSSD PTO.


Please join the PTO! A membership is a minimum donation of $10 and the money is used to help fund the cost of appreciation events for our teachers and staff, as well as other FSSD employees. It’s our opportunity to thank EVERYONE who invests in our children…crossing guards, bus drivers, teachers, administrators, staff, etc.

Also, get engaged in your school’s PTO! There are many great opportunities to volunteer at your school. Volunteering is the best way to get to know your child’s school and get connected to other parents, teachers and administrators. You don’t have to join the PTO to volunteer, and you don’t have to volunteer if you join the PTO. But we certainly hope you will choose to do both in support of your child and the teachers and staff contributing to their education.

The N.O.O.K. (Needs Of Our Kids) is a PTO-sponsored effort, created to support school staff by providing new clothing to students in crisis on an on-call basis. By working with school counselors, this partnership ensures that all students enter the classroom ready to learn and achieve their individual potential.
