• Major Medical Insurance:  Major medical insurance is provided through the State of Tennessee. The FSD has a very competitive package, paying 100 percent of individual coverage for most plans and shares the cost of family coverage with the employee.
• Health Savings Account: Employees enrolled in the Consumer Driven High Deductible Health Plan (CDHP) through the State of Tennessee are automatically set up with a health savings account to help them save for their health care costs. You can contribute money through payroll deduction to your HSA on a pre-tax basis.

• Sick Leave: Employees receive 1 sick day for every month worked, with unlimited accumulation, as specified in board policy. Two days of sick leave may be used as "flex days" with principal or supervisor approval.
• Sick Leave Bank: The Sick Leave Bank provides sick leave days to contributors who have personally suffered, or who have a minor child who has suffered, an unplanned personal illness, injury, disability, or quarantine and whose personal sick leave is exhausted.
• Personal Leave: Employees receive 2 personal days annually, which convert to sick leave if not used, as specified in board policy.
• Bereavement Leave: Employees receive 3 bereavement days annually, as specified in board policy.
• Vacation Leave: Eligible full-time employees who work 12 months receive 1 vacation day for every month worked, as specified in board policy.
• National Board Certification:  The district supports and encourages teachers to pursue National Board of Professional Teaching Standards certification. The district  provides financial support by granting an annual $4,000 supplement for the life of the certification (10 years), as well as covering the cost the application.
• Retirement:  One of the most valuable benefits of employment is coverage under the State of Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS).  Employees are vested in the plan after five (5) years of service.
• Retirement Planning with 403(b) and 457(b) Investments:  Employees who wish to participate in a 457(b)/403(b) designate a portion of their salary to contribute on a per pay basis. Contributions are pre-taxed and are automatically deducted from the employee’s payroll.
• After Tax Retirement Planning with a Roth 403(b):  Contributions are made on an after-tax basis and are included in current taxable income.
• Flexible Benefits Plan:  The FSD pays 100% of the fees for a Flexible Benefits Plan to provide employees a means of paying medical-related insurance premiums, dependent care expenses, and out-of-pocket health, dental and vision expenses with PRE-TAX dollars. Eligible coverage includes:

• Continuing Education Reimbursement:  The Board recognizes the importance of continued education of its employees. A well–informed staff can only benefit student achievement. The Board will annually review the budgetary needs of the District and determine an amount to be used for continuing education tuition reimbursement for all eligible full-time employees. Reimbursement forms are available through the Employee Navigator online benefit system.
• Tuition Waiver:  Tuition fees for children or grandchildren of employees residing outside the district boundaries but who attend FSD schools, are waived for full-time, part-time and contract employees.
• MAC Fee Reduction:  The FSD’s Morning and Afternoon Care (MAC) program fees are reduced for employees by 50%. MAC employees receive a 100% discount.
• Williamson County Recreation Complex Discount:  Williamson County Recreational Complexes offer discounted memberships to full-time (30 hours per week or more) employees and their families. The complexes include Franklin, Brentwood, Fairview, Hillsboro/Leiper’s Fork, Nolensville and Spring Hill. To receive an annual membership pass, each employee must provide verification of full-time employment at any of the complexes. Employment verification forms can be requested by email from the FSD Human Resources Department.

• Employee Wellbeing Solutions (EWS):  Employees will receive EWS benefits if enrolled in a health plan offered by the State. The EWS is designed to maximize health and effectiveness at home and at work.
• Worker’s Compensation:  To provide guidelines for treatment of work-related injuries or illnesses, continuation of pay, and appropriate integration back into the workforce.

Required Employment Forms 

The following forms are required for employment in the FSD.

• W-4: This form enables your employer to withhold the correct Federal income tax from your pay.
• I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification: This form is required by the U.S. Justice Department’s Immigration and Naturalization Service along with two appropriate forms of identification (see page 5).
• Physician’s Certificate: The Physician’s Certificate is required by the State of Tennessee’s Department of Education.
• Direct Deposit: This form enables your employer to deposit payroll directly into a designated bank account.
• Technology User Agreement:  All employees are required to read and sign this form, which outlines the responsible usage of electronic media in the FSD.
• Experience Verification Form:  This form is necessary for certificated personnel only
• Teacher Transfer Form:  This form is for teachers who currently work for the FSD to request a transfer to fill a vacancy in another building/department.
