Story Bus Rolls Into Summer June 1 - July 24

As summer break begins, one of Franklin Special District’s most beloved classrooms is back on the road — the FSD Story Bus. The FSD Story Bus summer run is June 1 through July 24.

transforming a retired school bus into a colorful sanctuary where children can read, imagine, and simply enjoy being kids.

The FSD Story Bus, a former school bus, is a welcoming place where children can read, create, and stay connected to learning all summer long. Inside, bookshelves, cozy seating, colorful workspaces, and a hand-painted reading tree replace traditional bus seats. Students can spread throughout the bus, reading quietly, coloring, writing, and getting lost in stories.

Designed to help prevent summer learning loss, the Story Bus does more than provide books. It creates a safe, engaging space where reading feels like an adventure rather than an assignment.

As the Story Bus rolls into Kroger parking lots across the community, it carries a simple but powerful message: great summer adventures can begin with a good book.
