ImageSherry Badger

Sherry Badger has served continuously on the Board of Education since 1997. She has served as Board Treasurer, Vice-Chair and is currently Chairman. She also served as the Board representative on the Curriculum Alignment Task Force, the Consolidated Planning Committee and co-chaired the New School Task Force. She is currently serving as board representative on the Sick Leave Bank Committee.

In 2008, Mrs. Badger achieved Level V boardsmanship status from the Tennessee School Boards Association, the highest designation a School Board member can earn. In 2012, Mrs. Badger was named to the All-Tennessee School Board. In 2011, she served as an at-large member of the TSBA Board of Directors.

Prior to her Board service, Mrs. Badger served voluntarily on the Director of Schools Screening Committee and the Long-Range Planning Committee. Additionally, she has eight years of service to the PTO, two of which were spent as FSSD PTO President, and two that were spent as Liberty Elementary School's PTO Coordinator.

She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee. Aside from her board work, Mrs. Badger is also active in the community as a member of the Heritage Foundation.

Alicia Spencer Barker, Au.D.

Alicia Spencer Barker has two children in FSSD schools and has been an active member of her children's PTO. She has served as PTO Chairman at Moore Elementary School and Vice President of the FSSD Executive PTO. In addition, she served as a member of the FSSD Board of Education's School Equity Task Force. With two active boy scouts, she and her husband both volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.

Her experience outside of school includes service through the Junior League of Nashville, where she received the 2006 Paragon Award for First-Year Active members. Her volunteer efforts through Junior League include time fundraising and chairing various committees. She also completed the Young Leaders Non-Profit Board Training in Nashville as well as the the Fast Track New Business Ventures training program through the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. 

Mrs. Barker is a practicing Doctor of Audiology with Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center in Nashville.

Allena Bell

Allena "Lena" Bell was appointed by the Board of Education in 2013 to fill a vacant seat.  She and her husband, Gary, have four young children (three of whom are in FSSD schools), and she is an active volunteer in their schools, serving in many different capacities for the individual school PTOs. In fact, she was selected by two schools to be recognized by the Board of Education in the Top 40 volunteer celebration in 2013. Additionally, she served as Secretary of the FSSD Executive PTO for the 2012-2013 school year. She is a member of the FSSD Family and Community Advisory Council and has served on the FSSD Stakeholder Committee during the 2013 AdvancED district accreditation process.

Her experience outside of school includes pharmaceutical sales, property management, and capital development. She is active in her neighborhood homeowner’s association and in her church. She received her undergraduate degree in Government from Liberty University in Virginia.

Robert Blair

Robert Blair has served on the Board of Education since 2003. He holds the office of School Board Treasurer. In 2011, Mr. Blair achieved Level V boardsmanship status from the Tennessee School Boards Association, the highest designation a School Board member can earn. In addition, he was recognized in 2009 for Outstanding Board Training by the National Alliance of Black School Educators. A Franklin native and graduate of the Franklin Special School District, Mr. Blair is a strong community advocate.

Mr. Blair's service includes work with the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce's education committee, Board Member of Leadership Franklin and Youth Leadership Franklin, and serves as a volunteer at the Franklin/Williamson County Boys and Girls Club. He has been in the schools as a substitute teacher at his alma mater, Franklin High School, and is the education director at Cummins Street Church of Christ.

He is employed by Citizens Corporation, a full-service banking technology firm in Franklin.

Tim Stillings

First elected in 1998, Tim Stillings is now serving his fourth four-year term on the board, currently serving as Vice-Chairman.

In 2008, the National School Boards Association recognized Mr. Stillings’ significant contribution to public education by presenting him the Distinguished Service Award.  
In 2009, Mr. Stillings achieved Level V boardsmanship status, Master Board Member, from the Tennessee School Boards Association.  He has achieved the highest level of boardsmanship certification

He has been active in his service to the school system, serving voluntarily in 1997 as chairman of the Technology for the Future Task Force and then on a long-range Technology Planning Committee.  He also served on the Financing for the Future Task Force, engaging FSSD stakeholders to come together, understand the unique mission of the FSSD, and develop economic strategies for the future sustainability of the FSSD.
Mr. Stillings is employed by Diebold, Inc.  His education includes a bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University and further professional development from Belmont University, the University of Michigan and the Southeast School of Banking.
He is active in the community as a member of the Franklin Noon Rotary Club, the Williamson County Republican Party, Franklin - Williamson County Chamber of Commerce, and the United Methodist Church.

Robin Newman

Mrs. Newman has served on the Board of Education since 2008. She has completed the training at the state and regional levels, and has attained the credit necessary to achieve Level I Boardsmanship.   Her children attended FSSD schools and she was actively involved as a PTO parent volunteer in those schools. She chose to serve on the Board so she could carry on the district's legacy of a well-rounded, academically robust education to a diverse student population.
Her service to the district also included a term on the Advisory Council at Moore Elementary. In addition, she is active in her church and in her neighborhood association.
A graduate of Ohio State University in allied medicine, Mrs. Newman is employed as a physical therapist with STAR Physical Therapy.
