The FSSD Family Involvement Coordinator is an important member of the schools' team of parents and educators. The position is funded by Title I and was begun as part of the  Safe Schools/Healthy Students program. As part of her job, the Family Involvement Coordinator:

• Works with individual families and the Social Worker to solve family issues;
• Assists families to help them understand school happenings, deadlines, and specific events;
• Coordinates and convenes regular parent meetings around topics of key concern to parents;
• Maintains ongoing contact with community organizations that provide services to the school's education program;
• Provides support to staff and parents when needed;
• Encourages communication between parent and school;
• Coordinates parent involvement opportunities for preschool classes.

 The Family Involvement Coordinator works closely with the Family Resource Center to provide valuable resources for students and their families. The Family Resource Center is funded jointly by the FSSD and Williamosn County Schools.
