History of Freedom Middle School

FMS opened in the fall of 1993. It was originally Franklin Junior High School. Kristi Jefferson became principal in 2002 after serving five years as the seventh-grade assistant principal. Before that she was a math teacher in Cheatham County, the former Franklin Junior High School, and Freedom Middle. Dr. Kristi Jefferson along with Dr. Jewell Mason, eighth grade assistant principal, and Mr. Adam Demonbreun, seventh grade assistant principal, work to keep Freedom Middle School running smoothly.
