Welcome to Johnson School!

Johnson Elementary is a place of learning for all students. Children are loved and cared for by every person in the building. Johnson is not only a school, but a family.

School Hours: 8:30-3:30

Johnson Elementary was established in 1958 as an African American School named after Dr. Charles C. Johnson. The school has undergone several additions and a renovation in 2000. The administration, faculty, and staff at Johnson Elementary is committed to teaching in a safe and caring learning environment. Johnson Elementary has only had four principals since its opening in 1958.

The current principal of Johnson School is Jan Cochran. The assistant principal is Tosha Robinson .

News and Events:

Johnson students raised approximately $1567 for the spare change for Haiti drive! Thank you to all who participated and thank you for showing that Johnson students care for others!

If your child is participating in the Music City Kids Marathon in April, please make sure that you have registered your child. You must register online at www.cmmkids.com. Please DO NOT SEND FORMS or CHECKS TO SCHOOL. Marathon training will be in March.

If you are interested in helping with the JES FUN RUN, please contact Peggy Driskill. We are working on securing sponsorships to purchase t-shirts for all students, so if you know someone who you think might be interested in supporting JES, please contact Peggy Driskill. The sponsorship committee is looking for $500, $250, and $100 sponsors.

*February 12th: Valentine's Day Classroom Parties (2:45-3:15)

*February 15th: NO SCHOOL: President's Day

*February 16th-19th: JES Canned Food Drive

*February 17th: Native American Program during school hours

*February 19th: Grandparent's Day

*March 4th: FSSD Festival of Movement @ Freedom Middle School at 6:30.
